Woman sketch artist cyber-bullied for not making Tom Brady handsome enough?

In a story that’s only possible in the Internet age, a courtroom sketch artist has come under heavy fire for a sketch she drew of dashing New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady looking, as those on social media summarily judged, less than handsome. Brady was attending a hearing for the “Deflategate” scandal in a New York City federal court on Wednesday. Jane Rosenberg’s sketch of Brady at the hearing went viral and spawned a series of very funny memes. In an interview with The New York Times, the embattled sketch artist was contrite, saying, “I apologize to Tom Brady for not making him as good-looking as he is.” Rosenberg, who’s been lauded for her many years of accurate sketch work, said drawing celebrities is her toughest assignment because people already have a very rigid expectation of what they should look like. Apparently, the apology and explanation wasn’t enough because a full day later, during an appearance on a radio show, Rosenberg said, “I’m getting a zillion nasty emails from his fans,” some of which she described as “hateful” and typical of “cyberbullying.”
