Going on a road trip at age 20 may not seem unique to most, but when you’re a daring Pakistani woman on a motorcycle in one of the most dangerous parts in your country, it makes you stand out. Zenith Irfan, who hails from Lahore, used three different motorcycle models to make the trek across the Kashmir belt. Irfan was inspired by her deceased father who “wanted to travel the world on a bike,” and took the treacherous terrain for one week in mid-June. Her personal photo blog, called “Zenith Irfan: 1 Girl 2 Wheels,” details the rugged landscape as well as the challenges of being a Pakistani woman traveling alone. She hopes that through this journey, she can destroy gender stereotypes and encourage women to live out their dreams.
