Ronda Rousey, the reigning world female bantamweight champion of the UFC, participated in a Reddit AMA this week. During the Q&A session, one fan asked Rousey, who’s fresh off annihilating her last UFC opponent in just 34 seconds, who would win a “rule-less” fight between her and Floyd Mayweather, who’s considered the world’s greatest pound-for-pound boxer. Rousey responded, “I believe I can beat anyone on this planet.” She went on to say Mayweather would beat her in a boxing match, but noted that boxing is not her sport. Since the two began verbally feuding last year, talk of an actual fight between the two has intrigued promoters, but Emily Shire of The Daily Beast argues that a fight between Rousey and Mayweather would be a setback for feminism. After all, Mayweather has a notable history of hitting women outside the ring.
