Emma Watson has teamed up with British Vogue to open up a dialogue on gender equality within the fashion industry. The magazine produced a video featuring Watson asking questions to several noteworthy designers, including Stella McCartney and Jonathan Saunders, about the gender discrepancies in the world of fashion. Upon being asked what the biggest challenges are that face women in fashion, McCartney responded by saying, “We need to give a better message to women of all ages, all sizes and all nationalities.” Following the launch of her HeForShe campaign, the U.N. Women Global Goodwill Ambassador believes that while there has been some awareness of issues within the industry raised, there is a long way to go. She ended the video by extending the questions to the wider audience, provoking a dialogue on social media.
