Steve Jobs’ ex-girlfriend asked him for $25 million in 2005

A new detail about Steve Jobs’ contentious relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Chrisann Brennan, has come to light: Fortune reports that in 2005, Brennan wrote Jobs a two-page letter asking her billionaire ex for $25 million for herself, as compensation for his “dishonorable behavior,” and $5 million for the pair’s daughter, Lisa. After meeting in high school, Brennan and Jobs had an on-and-off relationship for five years; she got pregnant with Lisa when she was 23. Jobs denied paternity for over two years, and after a court-ordered genetic test proved that Lisa was his daughter, at first paid only minimal amounts in child support. Brennan, who scraped by as a waitress and housecleaner while raising the couple’s daughter, told her side in her 2013 memoir The Bite in the Apple.
