A Florida woman is suing Walmart saying her local store violated her rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Tina White suffers from Tourette’s syndrome, making her prone to facial tics and profane outbursts. In 2011, she was shopping in a Florida Walmart when a security officer and manager asked her to leave the store and filed a no-trespassing order against her with local police. White’s lawyer, Mark Tietig, told USA Today that this violated the Americans with Disabilities Act: “Most people understand that when they hear Ms. White have one of her verbal tics, that it is involuntary and it’s a disability.” Walmart denies the allegations and claims its employees had no prior knowledge of White’s medical condition.
