When Jon Stewart ends his 16-year run as host of The Daily Show this August, his final guests will be Amy Schumer, Denis Leary and Louis C.K. Stewart made the announcement at the close of Thursday night’s episode.

Comedy Central considered Schumer as a replacement for America’s favorite satirist, but she turned down the job.

“I was so honored to be asked and considered. With Comedy Central, I project so much ‘You’re my parents!’ on the network and the people that run it, so them saying, ‘We believe in you and trust that you can do this,’ I thought, ‘Oh my god, thank you!’” Schumer told the Daily Beast. But she ultimately preferred the unknown to being in the same gig for an extended period of time. “I love not knowing. And I’ve never done anything safe or to make money for that reason.”

Stewart’s final show airs Thursday, August 6.
