Kate Winslet thanked childhood bully after worldwide fame and success

Celebrities, they’re just like us! Despite a blessed career and a cabinet full of awards (including BAFTAs, Golden Globes and an Oscar), Kate Winslet says she lacked confidence growing up. On a recent episode of “Running Wild With Bear Grylls” she opened up about being bullied at school for her weight and appearance. When the now 39-year old actress came eye-to-eye with one of her “particularly horrible” bullies years later and fresh off her new-found Titanic fame, she… thanked her. “She was working on a beauty counter in a department store,” Winslet recalled “I went up to her and said ‘I want to thank you for being such a b**ch because it made me a lot stronger.'” The rest of the episode featured the ebullient actress helping Bear Grylls build a fire with a tampon and scaling a cliff while reciting her famous line from Titanic: “Jack, I feel like I’m flying!”
