Indian housekeeper briefly becomes world’s richest woman

A housekeeper in the Indian city of Kanpur spent a few hours as the richest woman in the world on Friday. Urmila Yadav– who earns a pittance as a domestic worker– received a notification on her phone that her bank account had been injected with billions of rupees. Yadav, who is in her 30s, didn’t get much time to enjoy her newfound wealth; the State Bank of India swiftly traced the source of Yadav’s fortune to a server malfunction, and froze her account.
