On Friday, a 10-year old girl and an elderly woman carried out a bombing attack killing nine and injuring 18 in Nigeria’s northeastern Yobe state. The devices were detonated on a Muslim prayer ground as hundreds were gathered for prayer. Over the past few months, the Nigerian military has expressed its struggle in preventing these occurrences from happening. According to CNN, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but it’s notable that they occurred in a region where Boko Haram was recently blamed for killing hundreds. Boko Haram is known to have pledged allegiance to ISIS. Recently, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari said he would be willing to talk with militants at some stage.
