An unidentified mom in China was subjected to online criticism after a viral video showed her attempt to delay authorities from breaking into her BMW to save her child, leading many to speculate that she didn’t want her son rescued at the expense of her BMW being ruined. According to the Wall Street Journal, the video received more than 7.6 million views. Mashable reports that one woman commenter wondered, “Is the car or the life of the son more valuable. She reportedly added that she tried breaking the window herself, but the noise frightened the young boy. After a firefighter came forward to verify the woman’s story, social media users went wild again, this time criticizing those who first criticized the woman.
