TLC cancels “19 Kids and Counting” amid child molestation scandal


TLC announced on Thursday that it has canceled 19 Kids and Counting after child molestation allegations against Josh Duggar surfaced back in May. TLC had already suspended the show from its lineup. The popular reality show chronicles the ever-growing Duggar family as they go about their conservative Christian lives in Arkansas. Josh Duggar resigned from his post at a Christian lobby group in late May, just after claims that he molested two of his younger sisters when he was a teenager, first surfaced. The Duggar parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, subsequently said in an interview that they felt like failures amid the ordeal, unsure of how to handle the situation involving three of their children. TLC’s parent company, Discovery Communications, said that it wasn’t ruling out the possibility of a spin-off that would feature some of the Duggars.
