Amy Schumer on sexism, life goals and setting boundaries

Comedian Amy Schumer gets real in the August issue of Glamour magazine. The interview, conducted by her sister Kim Caramele, covers everything from Amy’s meteoric rise to her life goals, and something few associate with Schumer — boundaries. A self-proclaimed feminist, Schumer says, “Every woman deals with [sexism] most every day of their lives … there are all these preconceived notions of what it means to be a woman or a girl, and straying from those ideas of femininity is sort of shocking to people.” Though she’s gained popularity for her blunt, sex-laden comedy, Schumer says, “Anyone who’s smart and who knows me can see that that’s an act … I’m very clear with boundaries … I hope I do influence other women to set better boundaries for themselves”. On life goals, the comic says she just wants to “make women laugh. I want to make them feel beautiful in their own skin. I want to empower them to use their voice and not apologize. And I want a jet.”
