Russell Wilson, the Pro Bowl quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, appeared at a church in San Diego for a Q&A session over the weekend. During the discussion, he spoke candidly about his faith and his relationship with pop singer Ciara. The two have been dating since April, and Wilson revealed they are not having sex and have decided to stay celibate until marriage. Wilson explained how the decision came about: “She was on tour, she was traveling, and I was looking at her in the mirror … and she was sitting there and God spoke to me and said, ‘I need you to lead her.’ And so I told her right then and there, what would you do if we took all that extra stuff off the table, and did it Jesus’ way?” According to Wilson, what happened is she agreed that they can “love each other without that.” Wilson quipped that the abstinence decision is a difficult one and said, “I need you to pray for us … I need y’all to pray for me.”
