Rousey, Williams, Vonn lead female athletes in ESPY nominations

ESPN announced its nominees for the 2015 ESPY Awards on Wednesday, and several women athletes are vying for for awards. The Best Female Athlete category is packed with top talent: Skier Lindsey Vonn, tennis great Serena Williams, MMA fighter Ronda Rousey and college basketball extraordinaire Breanna Stewart from the University of Connecticut round out that category. Some other notable women up for awards are: Little League pitching phenom Mo’ne Davis (one of our 2015 Women of Impact), NCAA softball player Lauren Chamberlain and LPGA golfer Lydia Ko. The awards will be presented on July 15 during ESPN’s annual ESPY award show, which airs on ABC.
