A bisexual Baltimore woman has started a crowdfunding campaign to make her garden “even gayer” after her Christian neighbors complained that her garden was “relentlessly gay.” Julie Baker received an anonymous note from a neighbor, which she believes was in response to the rainbow-colored fairy lights she had put up in her yard. The note read: “Dear Resident of Kenwood Ave., Your yard is becoming Relentlessly Gay! Myself and Others in the neighborhood ask that you Tone It Down. This is a Christian area and there are Children. Keep it up and I will be Forced to call the Police on You! Your kind need to have respect for GOD.” Baker responded by setting up a GoFundMe campaign to add “many, many more rainbows” and make her home even more “relentlessly gay.” On the crowdfunding page, she writes: Put simply, I am a widow and the mother of four children, my youngest in high school and I WILL NOT Relent to Hatred. Instead, I will battle it with whimsy and beauty and laughter and love, wrapped around my home, yard and family!!!” So far, the campaign has raised more than $30,000, which will buy a hell of a lot of rainbows.
