In a new collection called “Z,” the gender-neutral pronoun, artist Robyn Renee Hasty used pre-industrial processes known as tintype to create a series of old fashioned nude portraits. At a quick glance they look like any old photographs, but upon closer examination it becomes clear that the artist is aiming to challenge the traditional notions of gender identity. The chosen subjects depict a range of genderqueer, cisgender, transgender and gender nonconforming individuals. The photos are captivating, but also know that they are NSFW.
