Only 1 of America’s 15 top-paid CEOs is a woman, report finds

According to a new report by CNN Money that charts the 15 highest-paid CEOs last year, Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer is the only female chief executive to crack the list. By CNN Money’s tally, Meyer’s 2014 earnings totaled $42.1 million, which was good for 14th place on the list. (David Zaslav of Discovery Communications topped the list with $156.1 million in total earnings.) Meyer, however is not the highest-paid woman in the U.S. That distinction goes to Angela Ahrendts, Apple’s senior VP of retail and online stores. She reportedly out-earned Meyer (and many other CEOs including her boss) by raking in $83 million last year. The New York Times has a list of the top 13 highest-paid female CEOs.
