Female bosses inspire greater enthusiasm than male bosses

A new Gallup poll contains some good news for female bosses: Although they’re still outnumbered by their male counterparts, they seem to inspire greater levels of enthusiasm among their subordinates. Thirty-three percent of employees managed by a woman say they’re engaged at work, compared to 25 percent who work for a man. That might be because they’re taking cues from the boss: The study also found that 41 percent of female managers report feeling involved and engaged at work, versus 35 percent of male managers.
