Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy: “I want women to ask themselves ‘have they given up too easily?'”

The documentary filmmaker discusses her latest project and shares inspiring advice for women

There is no doubt that Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is passionate about her work. Famous for her moving films on women’s and human rights issues, the Academy and Emmy award-winner tackles a more light-hearted topic with her newest project, “Songs of Lahore,” which chronicles the lives of eight Pakistani jazz musicians and their rise to the top of the iTunes chart.

In an interview with journalist Zain Verjee, the SOC Films CEO shares the philosophy behind her work and advice for women who are searching for their passion.
