Husband burns wife alive in Pakistan “honor killing”

A father and son in Pakistan were arrested over the weekend in the brutal killing of the son’s wife. Both men, authorities say, doused the 25-year-old woman in gasoline and set her ablaze. She died hours later after suffering burns to 80 percent of her body. The reason behind the savage attack: She left the home to go visit her sister without the company of a male relative. The two men have both been charged with murder and terrorism. Honor killings are a widespread problem in Pakistan with hundreds of women each year being killed by their own relatives who believe they’re defending the family’s honor over perceived transgressions.
