This month is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and many women are showing their support for survivors by painting their lips red. The #RedMyLips campaign has been trending on social media, with pictures of ladies with crimson lips who “stand in solidarity with survivors and refuse to be invisible.” Danielle Tansino, who was raped when she was 29 years old, launched the campaign in 2012. Frustrated by the lack of support and victim blaming, she wanted to find a way to create a supportive community. With thousands of #RedMyLips hashtagged selfies on Instagram and Twitter, she has definitely succeeded.
