Joni Mitchell in intensive care

The iconic folk singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, 71, is in intensive care after being rushed to a Los Angeles hospital Tuesday. A statement on her official website said that she was found unconscious in her home, but regained consciousness during the ambulance ride, adding that she is “currently in intensive care undergoing tests and is awake and in good spirits.” Several musicians, including Billy Idol and St Vincent, took to Twitter right away to send their well-wishes. Last year, in an interview with Billboard, Mitchell revealed that she is no longer able to perform, because she suffers from a rare skin disease called Morgellons disease. An eight-time Grammy Award winner, she released her last of 19 studio albums in 2007, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
