More than a decade ago, Scott Peterson made headlines after being convicted of murdering his wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn son. Ten years later, Geraldo Rivera and author Nancy Mulane have revealed that Peterson has been spending his days quite comfortably in San Quentin prison. As he awaits his sentenced lethal injection, Peterson resides in an exclusive single cell, “the best accommodations he could hope to have.” While lots of death row inmates burn 23 to 24 hours a day locked in their rooms, Peterson is allowed to shoot some hoops and stroll beneath a protective roof. And don’t think that his “exclusive life” is spoiled by any feelings of guilt: Peterson continues to deny any responsibility in Laci’s murder.
