Mo’Ne Davis forgives baseball player who called her a “slut”

Talk about being the bigger person! After college baseball player Joey Casselberry called Mo’Ne Davis a “slut” on Twitter — a move that got him swiftly booted from his school’s team – the 13-year-old Little League sensation forgave Casselberry. And what she did next was even more exemplary. The pitcher, who’s graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, emailed Bloomsburg University and asked that Casselberry be allowed back on the team. The player had already apologized over Twitter, before deactivating his account. The wonderful Mo’Ne Davis — who recently launched a sneaker line to benefit underprivileged girls, and is getting her own Disney biopic — told ESPN, “I know right now he’s really hurt … everyone deserves a second chance.” The Pennsylvania school stands by its decision, however, saying that Casselberry violated its policy.
