12-year-old tries to poison her mother after losing cellphone privileges

A 12-year-old girl has been detained in Boulder, Colorado for trying to poison her mother on two separate occasions. What could possibly cause such animus in such a young girl? A loss of cellphone privileges, as it turns out. A few days ago, the mother detected a bleach smell in her smoothie, but shrugged it off as residual cleaner on her glass. Later, she noticed the same smell of bleach coming from a water carafe in her room. The woman confronted her daughter, who confessed to trying to kill her mother because she had taken away the girl’s iPhone. That, I think we can safely say, is messed up.
