Taylor Swift buys up adult domain names

Taylor Swift, always careful to protect her personal brand, has bought up the domain names and, to be one step ahead of Internet trolls with nefarious intentions. From June 1 onward, these domain names along with several other, more innocent ones like .coffee or .report,  will be made available to the public by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. The new domain names are intended to be more descriptive and clear, and should make filtering unwanted content easier. Celebrities and companies were given the chance to snatch them up first — with Microsoft, for example, buying the adult “Office” domain names, so no one else would take advantage of them.
