Pope Francis is winning over hearts and minds everywhere — but especially with nuns, it seems. During a visit to a cathedral in Naples, Italy, a group of nuns who were allowed to leave the confines of their convent to see Francis in the flesh, mobbed the pontiff to everyone’s amusement. Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe drew laughs from the crowd when he tried to restrain them through the microphone. “ Well would you look at that. And these are the cloistered ones. Just imagine the non-cloistered ones,” he quipped. “They are going to eat him! Sisters … sisters!” While staff and security personnel attempted to rein them in, the pontiff smiled his way through the attack of the exuberant nuns, who seem to have heeded his call to religious leaders to “live their convocation with joy and enthusiasm.” Pope Francis was in Naples for a one-day visit to meet with some of the city’s religious leaders and priests, but also he toured some of the city’s crime-ridden areas, controlled by the Mafia.
