After serving as CEO of HTC for more than a decade, Peter Chou will step down and make way for fellow co-founder Cher Wang to take the helm. Wang is expected to steer the company out of the ashes from its last two smartphones, which failed to meet sales expectations, and into a more innovative future. While Wang takes the reigns, hype continues to build around the companies recently released One M9 smartphone and its Vive VR headset. “We pioneered the smartphone industry,” she said. “Now we are applying that thinking to realize the potential of a new generation of connected products and services.”
