While Mitt Romney has been proving he can still drum up press by rehashing old controversies, his wife has been toiling on a memoir about life with multiple sclerosis. Ann Romney’s publisher announced this week that her new book is due out in fall 2015. “A lot of people talk about a transformation that happens when life throws you a curveball, and the big one in my life was my MS diagnosis,” said Romney, who learned she had the disease in 1998. Proceeds from book sales will go to her 5-year-old foundation, the Ann Romney Center for Neurologic Diseases at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. Memoir isn’t a new genre for Romney. Her last book, The Romney Family Table, included vignettes of Romney family life alongside family recipes.
