Comedian Kathy Griffin announced today that she is leaving Fashion Police—a show that gleefully tears down celebs’ red carpet looks—after filming a mere seven episodes. Griffin had been tapped to replace Joan Rivers, who spearheaded the show until her death last September. While publicly eviscerating famous people seems like it would be Griffin’s dream job, the comedian said in a statement that she did not want “to use [her] comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism and intolerance toward difference.” Griffin’s departure comes just a few weeks after Kelly Osborne left Fashion Police in protest over a racist comment made by fellow co-host Giuliana Rancic. Basically, things over at Fashion Police are a big hot mess.
